Gutters and downspouts are important for proper drainage of rainwater but what happens next?
Once the water is funneled down the spout, where does it go?
Is the grading of the yard is stopped enough for all the water to run off or does it allow accumulation around your foundation?
A couple drops of water is not harmful but over time errosion will occur. Errosion around your foundation can and will make it unstable at some point and cause further issues.
If your grading is not sloped enough, I highly recommend running french drains to ensure all water is removed from around your home!
In this photo everything looks OK until it rains.
